Main Points Writing Style The writing is pretty good. I have no complaints. Plot (minor spoilers throughout) The summary just about sums it up. I’m glad I don’t have to recap everything. It’s pretty much all there. It was a short book, but pleasantly so. I read all of it in a few hours. I think we all pretty much know how these stories go. Girl swears off guys, then finds the one guy who makes her change her mind. What bothers me about Syrinx is her resolve, or lack thereof. She’s a Greek goddess, […]

Main Points Writing Style The writing was good. However, I noticed two things. One: facts were repeated a lot, sometimes even shortly after they were first mentioned, as if we, the readers, may have already forgotten. This happened maybe twice or thrice. Two: the narrator, Alexis, had an almost indifferent tone about a lot of things, making it seem a little off at times when I would expect it to be emotional. But it was a bit refreshing in keeping things simple rather than making a big fuss over things. Plot (a few hidden spoilers) […]

Main Points Review Intro First I would like to comment on the packaging, and I have a little story to share. My hardcover ARC was wrapped in black tissue paper and was sealed with the symbol on the cover in black sealing wax- it was so beautiful that I kept it. It also inspired me to want to try sealing things on my own, and I was delighted to receive a sealing kit for the holidays.
