This fun challenge is from Live, Love, Simple and I found out about it because The Reading Diaries is doing it. It seems like a great way to spice up my blogging life. I guess you can start at any time; the point is to do it for 30 days.
So, without further ado…..Day 1.
As everyone knows by now, my blog’s name is Awesome Book Assessment. It’s quite simple and I really don’t like it all that much but I’m not going to change it. You see, I have a collection of blogs all running under the ‘Awesome’ brand (as I call it): Awesome Clay Sculpting, Awesome Baking, and Awesome Book Assessment. I had to keep with the theme when I came up with this one. (I didn’t have to but it seemed cute at the time.) And I liked the idea of Awesome Book A…..something else that began with an A. It sounded right. I considered Awesome Book Analysis, and frankly that’s shorter than Awesome Book Assessment, but it sounds too professional and doesn’t flow. Okay I could say the same thing about the current title. Awesome Book Assessment….that’s a mouthful. Well, it’s not the longest out there, and it’s relevant. I’m awesome. I assess books. How accurate do you want me to be?
I could rename it something cute or peppy or mysterious or fun, but I’ll stick with plain sophisticated old ABA. It fits me better. I’m not some cute little 13-year-old blogger sitting behind a computer and writing short gushing reviews on YA romances. I’m a serious reviewer who reads everything and thinks deep thoughts. I’ve been told my reviews are in-depth and thorough. I suppose they are. They are long. They contain all my thoughts. I write to make you think about the book, not to make sure I don’t take up too much of your time. My opinions are valid and I like seeing who agrees/disagrees with me.
I guess this turned into a rant. That was not my intention. I’m overly wordy and should probably stop now. But anyway, now you know the long and short of it: ABA was a name chosen quickly without creativity or much thought. And that’s how it will stay (:
So if you’re participating in this, whenever, link your posts below; I’m curious. If you’re not, tell me: how did you choose your blog name?
