This fun challenge is from Live, Love, Simple and I found out about it because The Reading Diaries is doing it. It seems like a great way to spice up my blogging life. I guess you can start at any time; the point is to do it for 30 days.
So, without further ado…..Day 3.
DAY 3

My favorite quote

Oh dear. I have a lot of those. It would be far easier to tell you the authors I love quotes by. The main one being….drum roll please….Lewis Carroll. Take almost any quote from Alice in Wonderland and I’ll immediately love it. I think about moments/quotes/songs from AiW on a daily basis. I have a shelf on my bookcase devoted to AiW editions. I love the movies in this order: first the 1951 version because the animation is amazing and the story is fun, and the music! Wow the music. Then the ’99 version because it is the most accurate to the actual book. Then the Tim Burton one (was it 2012? 2011?) because it’s so dark and beautiful and I love each characters’ role.
Here’s a smattering of quotes:

  1. “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
    “I don’t much care where –”
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.” (That quote is actually my computer’s background)
  2. “You used to be much more…”muchier.” You’ve lost your muchness.”  (I actually used the term ‘muchness’ in a recent review. I think this came from the Tim Burton movie though, not the book)
  3. “Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone, “so I can’t take more.”
“You mean you can’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”
“Nobody asked your opinion,” said Alice.”
  4. “I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”
  5. “Begin at the beginning,” the King said, very gravely, “and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”
  6. “But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”
I also like quotes by Edgar Allan Poe (my other favorite poet) , Shakespeare, and J.K. Rowling, among others.

“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”  -Edgar Allan Poe

So if you’re participating in this, whenever, link your posts below; I’m curiouser and curiouser. If you’re not, tell me your favorite quote!
