50 Follower Milestone Giveaway!

Posted May 13, 2014 in Giveaway / 7 Comments

I’m so excited to host my first giveaway here at Awesome Book Assessment. I’ve been waiting for this day a long time. I’ve waited until I reached 50 GFC followers, which I’m glad to say I did a couple days ago thanks to Valeria @ A Touch of Book Madness, who was lucky follower #50. I would also like to thank my 49 Twitter followers and 11 Bloglovin’ followers, as well as my friends on Goodreads, likes on the ABA Facebook page, etc.

So now for the rules. I would suggest reading these before going on to the prizes so you don’t get your hopes up.

  1. You must be thirteen (13) years or older to enter. Although I may let it slide if you’re younger and have a parent’s permission. I know some younger bloggers who could do with some free books.
  2. THIS GIVEAWAY IS OPEN TO THE U.S. ONLY. I will have other giveaways later (with better prizes) that will be international.
That’s it. You have to be of reasonable age and live in the U.S.
Now for the prizes.
I currently have 16 books on my Giveaway shelf that need new homes. A lot of them aren’t in mint condition, but why toss them or sell them when I can give them away to you guys for free? Anyway, I’m offering them to you among the newer books so you have the choice. You can choose two old books, two new books, or one of each. I’m also including ARCs that I’ve enjoyed but don’t have room for on my shelves. They have all been released already, and as long as you don’t sell them, it’s all good.
Some of these are personal favorites, others are older books that I just need to get rid of. Take your pick. If you don’t like any of them, don’t despair. If you enter and win, you’ll have books to give as gifts to other people. And there’s always the next giveaway. I myself can’t resist entering any giveaway for any free book, even if I might not like it.
Rebel Angels- there’s the rip I taped up
Inkheart- the side isn’t the cleanest either
Inkheart with the rip

Here are the newer (great condition) books:
1. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
A personal favorite, a hardcover.
2. The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
The last in the first Percy Jackson series, BUT it’s a hardcover.

3. Warriors #3: Forest of Secrets by Erin Hunter
One of my favorite series’ as a kid. And to this day. (paperback)
Almost mint condition:
A personal favorite, and luckily the first in the series.
5. Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse
Had to read it twice, but my final rating? 3 stars.
6. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare
A classic.
Gently loved condition:
7. The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
The second in the first Percy Jackson series.
Hated this book. But it’s still interesting and has a lot of good issues.
9. The Glory Field by Walter Dean Myers
Another classic.
10. Into the Land of the Unicorns by Bruce Coville
Strange, but loveable. For younger readers.
Rather violently loved condition:
11. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
A personal favorite for sure, and that’s why there is a bit of a rip on the cover. I’ve taped it up as best I could.
12. Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
Another favorite, 2nd in the Gemma Doyle series. I’m only giving it away because of the large rip on the back cover, which I’ve taped. Other than that rip, it’s in great condition.
Brandy-new 2013 ARCs (don’t worry, they’ve been released):
13. Braced For Murder by Sue Owens Wright
I liked this one. Review here.
14. The Diary of Amy by Scott Erickson
I rated this 5 stars. Review here.
15. Colette by Michelina Vinter
Another wonderful little story.
16. Upload by Mark McClelland
This one got 3 stars. Very heavily science-fiction.

I like to think this first giveaway represents my taste in books: all over the place with a varied mix of old and new.

Hey Alicia!
So excited for this giveaway. I have been dying for Mocking jay after I read The Hunger Games last year. Also, I have barely any Shakespeare works, so I’m hoping I can get ahold of some soon :)

Hey Jane!
I’m glad you’re excited, I hoped someone would be (: I hope you like Mockingjay, it’s not as good as the first one but it’s a satisfying conclusion (mostly) and that’s what counts. Plus it’s a shiny hardcover!
It’s my only Shakespeare work, so I hope I can add to your collection while getting rid of mine at the same time. Not the biggest fan but it’s an interesting story.
Thanks for being the first entry!
