Another one from Jillian’s Books!
Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Yes and it makes me sad! I didn’t used to. I loved reading in the car. But now I can’t ): well at least I have my music.
Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
Markus Zusak from The Book Thief. It’s just so short and poignant and…unexpected. See my review of it to find out more.
Harry Potter series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
Harry Potter. Because it’s amazing. Twilight’s not bad. But HP has so much more going on, so much more complex magic, and more intriguing relationships…among other things.
Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it besides books?
I have my backpack for school which contains binders/folders/other school crap, my pencil bag (I have a million different kinds of pens, like drawing pens, writing pens, and tattoo pens), my lunchbox, two calculators, my planner, phone/iPod etc.
Do you smell your books?
I don’t really have a sense of smell, but sometimes I smell books ironically because I feel like that’s something I would do if I could.
Do you prefer books with illustrations or not?
Yeah I don’t mind either way. Sometimes it enhances my vision of what’s going on but sometimes it clashes with it.
What book did you love while reading then discovered it wasn’t quality writing?
Can’t think of anything straight off. I’ll usually be able to tell while reading whether it’s quality or not.
What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
I have a lot of kids books, so those would be the thinnest. I’m not going to count the pages in all of them to determine which is really the thinnest.
What is the thickest book on your shelf?
Probably my several anthologies of Lewis Carroll’s works. I have 3 of his, and one of Edgar Allan Poe’s. Hey, I’m a collector. (And yes, they all have the same works in them.)
Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself as a writer in the future?
Yes, I write, and I’m fairly good. I used to want to be a writer, and now I’m not so sure, but it’s still a possibility. Not as a career, but as a side thing, maybe.
When did you get into reading?
When I was 3, when I first learned. There have been phases where I haven’t been so into it, like middle school, but I’ve always loved it at heart.
What is your favorite classic book?
There are a lot. I remember liking To Kill a Mockingbird and The Count of Monte Christo, but Alice in Wonderland wins by a landslide.
In school, was your best subject Language Arts/English?
Yeah but I’m good at almost everything. I’m not as good at the science/history subjects though. I like math, English, and French and the arts of course.
If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated… what would you do?
Give it away. People know how I am with books. They understand. That’s why they usually ask before buying me any.
What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I love that series so much but like no one knows it.
What is a bad habit that you do (besides rambling) while blogging?
Putting things off…
What is your favorite word?
I have a super long list of words I love, but I’ve always had a fascination with words/names that begin with C or K. Right now I like the word/name Cantos.
Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
I’m like part nerd, part geek, part tons of other things…I’m just really hard to pin down. My friends are nerds and gamers, and most of the time I fall into that category.
Vampires or Fairies? Why?
No preference. I don’t read much with fairies.
Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Shapeshifters all the way. Angels have always seemed silly to me.
Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Spirits. Death is fascinating.
Zombies or vampires?
Zombies just because of the principle of the thing.
Love triangle or forbidden love?
Hmmmm. HMMMM. Forbidden love.
Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
So fun! You’re reading this, so YOU’RE tagged!
