A Questionnaire For Readers- my answers

Posted February 7, 2015 in Tag / 2 Comments

wahoo a questionnaire!

It’s not exactly a tag, but hey! I’ll take it! Saw this on Musings From a Bookmammal.

EDIT: I didn’t realize it at the time, but I already did this last year! Some of my answers may have changed though.

 1. Do you have a specific place for reading?

Ahahahaha- anywhere. Usually my bed or a chair, or my desk at school. I’m one of those people who is so used to reading at my desk at school, I tend to read at tables all the time. And it’s comfortable.

2. Book mark or random piece of paper?

I tend to dog-ear my pages. If it’s a library book, I use the red due-date card from the little pocket. If I have to use a bookmark for some reason- I just pick a piece of paper. I HAVE bookmarks, but they’re more collector’s items, hehe.

3. Can you just stop anywhere in a book or do you have to stop at the end of a chapter?

I have to find a good stopping place. It doesn’t have to be at the end of a chapter, but I can’t stop in the middle of action.

4. Do you eat or drink when reading?

Not anymore. Learned my lesson (;

5. Music or TV on when reading?

Nah. I used to put music on, but now I don’t like distractions. Which is a shame, because I love listening to music.

 6. One book at a time or several?

I used to be so bad- I’d read like 5 at once. Now I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT do that. Man, how things have changed. I read one and don’t allow myself to move on until I’ve reviewed it, if my goal was to review it.

7. Reading at home or elsewhere?

I’m not picky; I’ll read anywhere. Home and school, mostly.

8. Read out loud or silently?

Silently, but if I’m getting distracted I read aloud for a while until I’m focused again. Works surprisingly well.

9. Do you read ahead or skip pages?

Nah, that’s not good. Occasionally if I’m picking up a new book I’ll flip to some random page in the middle to see what the writing’s like, but I won’t read more than a few sentences. Then it’s always fun to come across that part again when I’m reading it for real to try to see if I can remember it.

 10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

I’d prefer to keep it like new, but I don’t really care all that much. If the book gets seriously ripped (has happened to me twice) I’ll try and get another copy, even a used one, if it’s in better condition.

11. Do you write in your books?

No no no! That’s BAD, people!

12. Who are you tagging?

If you’re reading this….

Go for it! Go go go!
