Letters to Characters #4: Jack from 24 Girls in 7 Days

In this feature, we write letters to characters. They can be about anything, really. I kind of had the idea that if we didn’t like something they did in their book/series, we could yell at them about it or suggest something they should have done, or give advice some other way, or just gush about how awesome they are.  And also- these don’t have to be book characters; they can be movie characters, TV show characters, webcomic characters, manga characters, whatever.

Welcome to LTC4!

~Dear Jack~

Your story seemed so silly. I’m sorry, but at a lot of moments I really couldn’t understand your thinking. Like, what are you, five? Just because you’re smart and not-so-experienced with girls does not justify some of your thoughts and actions. Especially the way you would switch from one girl to another just like that…even if they were very different, you’d become obsessed with each one without even thinking of the previous ones. This happened with almost every single girl. Except, of course, the clearly insane or positively rude ones. Which you’d have to be really dense to like.

But I mean, think about their feelings. They’re not all the same. They’re not just girls, they’re people with emotions. It’s awful to mess with them like that, and I think you do realize that after a while, but not before a bunch of awful things happen.

And your friends are kind of awful as well—starting the whole thing, lying to people, continuing with it, etc. It’s super frustrating. I mean, I liked you more than them, but you weren’t without your faults. And you were a bit of a pushover, too. You gave in to your friends constantly, and even some of the girls. It was rather ridiculous.

But whatever. I guess you made the right decision in the end.

BUT there is that one thing that bugs me about Adrian. You never gave a reason for disliking her. All you said about her was that she liked you and seemed to follow you. You never said anything bad about her though, nothing that would justify not giving her a chance. So only when you’d exhausted every other option do you give her one? Real nice, Jack. Real nice. (Prick.)
