Blogosphere Travels #10: Blogger Birthday/Blogoversary Calendar
Posted on December 27, 2015 in Blogosphere Travels / 0 Comments

Hi everyone! I just wanted to mention this super cool and fun thing that Nicole over at Feed Your Fiction Addiction is doing. She’s created a calendar so we can keep track of our blogger friends’ birthdays and blogoversaries. This way we can celebrate x1000! I’m always in the mood to celebrate. Check it often and if you see someone having a birthday or anniversary, just swing by their blog and leave them a nice note! It’s a wonderful idea and a great way to keep everything all in one place. Just make sure you sign […]

Genre Breakdown 2015

Genre Breakdown 2015
Posted on December 26, 2015 in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

I loved doing this last year so I thought I’d do it again. Let’s have a look at the genres I read this year! Is anything different? Well, first of all, I changed the way I do age genres, separating young and new adult. I also got rid of the nonfiction genre this year because I didn’t read any (ha! That was my prediction from last year). I added horror and paranormal. I guess this was the first year I read horror and must not have classified paranormal as a genre before. I think […]

Merry Christmas! 2015

Merry Christmas! 2015

(image credit) Merry Christmas guys. Happy holidays. Feliz Navidad. Warm wishes to all of you and your families. Would you believe it’s 81 degrees Fahrenheit here in Texas? It’s crazy. Doesn’t feel like winter, much less Christmas. But as someone who has a hard time with cold, I’m loving it. I’ll be spending time with my family today. My grandma’s in town and we’ll all be going to my other grandma’s house to meet with my aunt and her family later. I’m making my special Brussels sprouts. It’s a delicious recipe. If I receive books […]

2015 End of the Year Book Survey + goals for my blog next year

2015 End of the Year Book Survey + goals for my blog next year
Posted on December 24, 2015 in Survey / 2 Comments

Hello everyone! Despite my really poor memory of all 100 books I read this year so far, I’m going to attempt to fill this out. I’ll be going mainly based on reviews and ratings (with the help of Goodreads too) along with what I can remember. It’s especially hard this year because I took a nice long break over the summer from reading. Or maybe that’s a good thing? Because if I had read more books this past summer, I would have more books to remember and…subsequently…forget. Hmm. Well, either way, I don’t remember the books I […]

The Torment of Rachel Ames by Jeff Gunhus

The Torment of Rachel Ames by Jeff Gunhus

Main points This book was really cool! It would have made a great horror movie, I’ll tell you that. It was one of those books where you’re never actually sure what’s real, but either way you’re pretty sure the main character is going crazy. Or is crazy. Keeps you on your toes. It’s one of those books where anything goes. What’s great is that at the end you think things are finally going to wrap up and make sense, and they start to, but then—BAM! You’re suddenly unsure of what just happened. I won’t give […]

I’m not doing any reading challenges next year!

I’m not doing any reading challenges next year!
Posted on December 22, 2015 in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

Shocking, isn’t it? I’ve been participating in a reasonable capacity these past years. But that’s the thing; it’s purely a casual, coincidental thing. I’ve just read a contemporary romance? Oh, look at that, let’s count that towards the challenge. I’ve never once looked at my list of challenges before picking out a book. In fact, I don’t really pick out my books anymore. I am mostly doing blog tours lately. So if a book sounds good, I’ll sign up, and I’ll read it by that date. (Almost 100% of the time I read it the night before it’s due.) […]

A Hero Grinch for Christmas by Samanthya Wyatt

A Hero Grinch for Christmas by Samanthya Wyatt

Main points I really liked this book! It was really cute. It was pretty cliché and predictable, but we all need some of that every now and then. It was a cute story with a very happy ending. You can pretty much tell what happens in the synopsis, but this book isn’t all PG. It has its steamy moments. Very well done. Not too excessive either. I loved the dual POVs. Very important in romance novels, if you ask me. They didn’t go back and re-do scenes from the other person’s perspective, but it was […]

The Samsaric by G. W. Lwin

The Samsaric by G. W. Lwin

Main points This book was interesting! The synopsis really tells you nothing. It is about Mesopotamia and religion, highly fantasized. It is realistic and well-researched. Basically, it is about two immortal beings—Samsarics—trying to safely bring the goddess Innana in her mortal form to Akkad to become an immortal again. The problem is that they are being hunted down by dark creatures that gain power and longevity by drinking blood. The characters are interesting in that they do seem to be developed, but we don’t see too much of it. The main character, Shuri, is an […]

Main points I really liked this! Despite the obvious Hunger Games parallels, it really does feel like a different book, equally entertaining. Yes, it has the potential to be very well-received. For some reason I feel like I would better be able to review this book in list form. +The world-building was sublime. We weren’t given too much time on Earthenfell but I found it very easy to visualize both it and Calisto. I really want to visit Calisto. It seems fascinating, and I’m intrigued by the idea of a race of people who are […]
