Here is an essay I wrote for an English class in college. It basically explains how I saw Gatsby and Daisy and why their relationship would not have worked. The assignment limited me to chapter 3, but obviously I had to use more than just that.

Main points This book was a trip. I’ve read the author before, and liked her work, but this was something quite different. The story was, anyway. It’s difficult to describe as anything other than a trippy experience, because it felt like everyone was literally crazy or just full of secrets and lying about everything. Main points I SUPER LOVED this book. It was everything I was looking for in a period drama. It was such a great blend of romance, mystery, and historical quotidian. It’s one of those books that reminds me just how much I want to live in this era. The language took some getting used to but I loved it all the same. I wish we all spoke like that.
