About Me

Hi! I’m Alicia. I was born in Brazil. I have lived in Florida, Arizona, California, and Texas, and I have been to 17 countries. I am an only child.
I love my family and my awesome friends more than almost anything.
I enjoy freelance editing more than any other kind of work.

I am currently a college student majoring in English Literature and minoring in Philosophy.

I play (and have taught) piano (for 12+ years), I used to dance hip-hop (and ballet and tap and jazz), I started blogging because I sculpt using polymer clay, I do various other crafts (papercraft, bookbinding, needle felting, etc.), I am a casual video gamer (not so much anymore), and of course I like to read and write. I am always getting inspired to try new things so I have about 10 different sections in my craft room dedicated to a different craft. I am also an entrepreneur and constantly looking to see how I can sell the things I make, but not so much success with that yet.

I learned to read at the age of 3 and never stopped. (Apparently I read the first Harry Potter book at age 4.) I have read over 600 books in my lifetime so far. I will read pretty much anything, but I prefer fiction.

I was inspired to create a book review blog by SmallReview. I figured, I read so much already (and quickly), why not share my thoughts on what I read? I hope other people benefit from it. I started this blog in the summer of 2013.

to re-read or not to re-read?

I love reading books over and over again, if they really are good. It’s hard to read new ones when I want to keep going back to old ones, but I alternate. I used to only buy my favorite books, but I’m expanding my library to books I’ve read and loved. I don’t usually buy new ones until I’ve read them from the library/borrowed them from friends and loved them, just so I don’t buy it and then hate it. But I’ll make exceptions for books that I just have a feeling I’ll love. (My library currently has ~600 books.)

To contact me, see my Review Policy.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a look around. You might find something you like. (:
