Introducing My New Editing Website
Posted on January 17, 2018 in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

Hello everyone! I briefly mentioned this in a previous post but I have created an entirely new website for my editing services instead of just using a page on this website. It is aliciatheeditor.com and includes much more information than I had on this blog. I am a freelancer and I work with both companies and individuals so if you are in need of a copy editor for fiction, creative nonfiction, or shorter pieces, please check it out. All the information you  need should be there, but if you have questions, see the contact page […]

Hi guys! I’m doing my big crafty reveal today. I mentioned that I had some bookish crafts to show you guys and here they are! Genre Breakdown 2015

Genre Breakdown 2015
Posted on December 26, 2015 in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

I loved doing this last year so I thought I’d do it again. Let’s have a look at the genres I read this year! Is anything different? Well, first of all, I changed the way I do age genres, separating young and new adult. I also got rid of the nonfiction genre this year because I didn’t read any (ha! That was my prediction from last year). I added horror and paranormal. I guess this was the first year I read horror and must not have classified paranormal as a genre before. I think […]

I’m not doing any reading challenges next year!

I’m not doing any reading challenges next year!
Posted on December 22, 2015 in Uncategorized / 0 Comments

Shocking, isn’t it? I’ve been participating in a reasonable capacity these past years. But that’s the thing; it’s purely a casual, coincidental thing. I’ve just read a contemporary romance? Oh, look at that, let’s count that towards the challenge. I’ve never once looked at my list of challenges before picking out a book. In fact, I don’t really pick out my books anymore. I am mostly doing blog tours lately. So if a book sounds good, I’ll sign up, and I’ll read it by that date. (Almost 100% of the time I read it the night before it’s due.) […]

First editing project completed!

First editing project completed!
Posted on October 17, 2015 in Uncategorized / 2 Comments

Hey friends! I am so pleased to say that I finally completed my first freelance editing project and it was absolutely wonderful. The author that I got to work with was fantastic and left this super nice testimonial: Awesome Book Assessment was excellent. As a traditionally published author, I was a little nervous about taking my first step into the world of self-publishing, because I wasn’t sure I could find the quality of editing I’ve previously enjoyed with my publishers. I’ve worked as a copy editor for many years, so I was very critical when […]

Hi everyone! I’m writing this post on behalf of Amber from The Mile-Long Bookshelf. She’s an amazing blogger and writer and she needs help to raise funds in order to attend school. She has to go to an online school called InterHigh because her chronic anxiety renders her unable to to go regular school. The problem is, her old school cannot fund her place and her parents cannot either, so she needs our help. Read her blog post and watch her video here. I am just about to go off to college (in a week) and […]

Le Petit Prince

Le Petit Prince
Posted on April 15, 2015 in Uncategorized / 3 Comments

Hi guys! I’m not going to do a traditional review on this book, only share some brief thoughts. We had to read it for French class. I loved it, but it was certainly quite sad. There were tons of good themes, of course, including the importance of things that are invisible- or rather, intangible. I got inspired to do some artwork.   These prints are both available in my shop. Oh, did I not mention I had a print shop? Yes. Yes I do. There are other prints/illustrations/drawings in there as well. Have a look […]
