Main points I liked this book! But there are a couple things that must be said. First of all, there is a LOT the synopsis doesn’t tell you. I went into it because I hadn’t read a book about larger-than-average women before and I needed diversity. I got a whole lot MORE than that. Second, there are a lot of, shall we say, interesting things that occur in this book. It’s definitely bordering on erotica, let’s get that out of the way right now. It’s kinky. Strange stuff goes down. There’s a bit of unexpected […]

Main points This book was very good, but it left me with more questions than answers. It had a very nice mixture of plot and character development. There were a lot of emotional moments. The plot didn’t feel too hurried, even though it was difficult to predict. There were a few cruel moments, but it wasn’t as bad as I expected, which confused me. I think perhaps something much worse went on, but we won’t know until later books. Some things happened in this book, yes, but I think it was primarily a setup for […]

Main points This book was great! It was a very enjoyable read, although difficult at times. The beginning was really, really frustrating. It took me a while to warm up to both Donna and Peleus. I could forgive Peleus a little more quickly because of the customs of the time, but Donna was a different matter entirely. She had severely crippling fears and self-doubts. It took her weeks to even tell Peleus her name, even though it was perfectly within her capabilities at the time. She never spoke of herself. She just couldn’t say those […]

Main points This book was just as excellent as the first, if not more so. I had to refresh myself with the last chapter of the first book but it wasn’t too difficult to catch up on. The plot kept getting more complicated as the book went on, but it was possible to keep up with, even if it wasn’t incredibly easy. I think more complex plots are better anyhow. Glory is just as funny and sassy as ever. She’s a very relatable character. I love how she speaks her mind even in the face […]

Main points This book was a fantastic sequel. Like, unbelievably good. Worth every star. It had an incredibly heartbreaking ending, but I’m confident things will wrap up in the next book. It was just hard to deal with in the moment. It was one of those Murphy’s Law moments—you knew what the worst thing that could happen was, and you knew it was going to happen. Well, I did, anyway. I’ve noticed a pattern. If there’s a confrontation at the very end of a book, and it’s not the last in the series, it’s probably […]

Main points I LOVED this book! It was fantastic. A new favorite. I wasn’t sure I’d be up for another contemporary romance, but this one had enough crime drama to keep me interested and excited. It was very easy to become invested. I have to say, the characterization was fantastic. This is not so common in books with great plots. The main character, Kylie, was awesome. She was smart, hilarious, and knew how to get things done. Though she wasn’t able to hide her emotions well, she knew how to play the part. She was […]
